Where your files live
Generated images and videos are written to object storage (S3-compatible), not to the application server. The server only issues short-lived download links. This keeps the platform fast and keeps large media off the machines that serve the API.
Retention: 30 days
Every object is created with an expiry of 30 days. A bucket lifecycle rule deletes it automatically at that point — typically within 24 hours of the deadline. There is no archive tier and no way to restore an expired file, including by asking support.
Downloads: 100 per file
Each download link is counted. When a file reaches 100 downloads, it is removed from storage even if the 30-day window has not passed. Links are short-lived signed URLs; generating a new link for the same file counts as another download.
Why it works this way
- Object storage is billed by volume; deleting on a schedule keeps pricing predictable.
- Media on the API server would slow inference and fill disks.
- A hard download ceiling stops a single file being used as free bandwidth.
What you should do
- Download a render as soon as it is ready, then store it yourself.
- Keep your own backup if the asset matters to your business.
- Do not rely on this platform as a media archive.
Need longer retention?
If your workflow needs files kept longer, or delivered straight into your own bucket, contact support@chinesemodels.ai before you rely on it. Retention is a product term, not an incident we fix after the fact.
